Sustainable Tourism

 This is a new way of doing tourism.  And the Hosteria San Mateo is very proud to be part of. 

The concept of the “Sustainable Tourism”,  It’s a new vision… since it puts on our hands the care of our environment for the enjoinment of Future Generations.  We are not waiting for Government laws to enforce our good judgement. 

It asks us to respect the local communities and that we should not allow them to lose their identity.  It tells us to utilize our natural resources very well.
That is why the “Hosteria San Mateo”, realize that any daily operation of our business, has an impact on our environment.  For that reason, we pledge to use better resources, to promote savings, and to be more efficient. 

To continue recycling natural waste to feed our worms, which produce organic fertilizer, which is used on our vegetable garden. 

We pledge to use more the Internet and electronic documentation to reduce the paper waste.  

For the Hosteria San Mateo, is very important to identify ourselves with our community.  For that reason, we will continue to use products and services from people of communities nearby, helping with their economy. 

We are extremely proud of our culture and our nearby Indian communities.  We want our tourist to understand their importance and the respect of our culture.

The Hosteria San Mateo is doing a lot of things to follow the norms of “Sustainable Tourism” but we have a lot more to do and a lot more to learn to keep improving our processes.
